Coast Canvas v0.2
Coast Canvas has been in Closed Beta for two months, and we’ve received invaluable feedback and feature requests from early users. Feedback is our lifeblood, and we are committed to designing Coast as a guide that helps you make more confident decisions and find peace of mind as you navigate life and money.
Early feedback has also confirmed a few assumptions we had about the first iteration of the product and has opened our imaginations to other possibilities we can turn into realities. We are hard at work expanding the platform to meet your needs, and we’re excited to share a few updates with you:
New Features
- Solana Integration: You can now track your Solana assets within your portfolio! This includes native and SLP tokens as well as your Solana NFTs. Solana support was added based on popular demand from Closed Beta users and we will continue to add support for additional blockchains based on demand.
- Price Oracle: Your asset’s values will now automatically update based on the stock or cryptocurrency ticker symbol. This means when you add a ticker symbol to track an asset, we’ll automagically fetch the current price of the stock or token. This functionality was also added based on user feedback. Keep in mind that the prices displayed are delayed by 15 minutes, so we do not recommend trading based on this data.
- Notifications: We implemented a notification system to keep you updated regarding important changes to your financial picture. This also helps us notify you when new feature additions go-live, like this one! Coast is being developed as a tool for proactive planning, so it’s important to have a mechanism in place to inform you of opportunities and optimizations you can make to improve your financial well-being.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed: The donut charts on the Dashboard were difficult to read and the categories weren’t intuitive. Dashboard charts now have a refreshed look, the categories are better defined, and the text is easier to read. This change also increases app performance.
- Improved: It was previously unclear how we connect traditional institutions to Coast Canvas. This created some hesitation around connecting accounts. We improved the UI messaging around connecting accounts and built an FAQ page to communicate our commitment and careful considerations regarding security. For a tl;dr, Coast is SOC 2 Type II compliant, we never have access to your credentials or private keys, and there is no need to sign a transaction with a wallet in order to track your digital assets.
